Nagaland Public Service Commission is an organization of Nagaland responsible for conducting the exams for various administrative departments. It mainly recruits officers via the Civil Services Examination (NCS, NPS, NSS & Allied Services).

There are mainly 4 types of examinations conducted by NPSC:
- lower division assistan-cum-computer assistant exam
The syllabus for written examination will comprise of Essay, Comprehension, English Grammar, General Knowledge, Computer Knowledge, General Mental Ability etc.
Recruitment Exam for Driver will consist of Practical Test comprising driving test, driving related skills, knowledge of vehicle parts, protocol knowledge, driving etiquette, traffic rules, hygiene, knowledge of apps like google maps etc.
- Combined technical services examination
There will be one combined paper on General English and General knowledge, and Paper-I & II (MCQ) in the Technical subject.
The assignment of marks and time will be as follows:

The components of the combined paper on General English and General Knowledge shall be Essay, Precis writing, Amplification, Construction of sentence & Grammar and General Knowledge, comprising of currents events, general science, mental ability, Indian history, Indian Polity, Indian economy, Geography, with combination of objective type and short descriptive answers.
For the Technical Subject Paper, the pattern of question will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. There will be 200 question on each paper, with 1 (one) mark for each question, with negative marking of (0.33) for each wrong answer.

- Educational Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a Recognized University.
- Age Limit: The minimum age limit is 21 years and maximum age limit is 30 years.

The Preliminary examination of NPSC CSE will comprise of one paper of objective type
(MCQ with OMR Answer Sheet) carrying a maximum of 200 marks to be attempted in the duration of 3 hours. This Examination will act as a screening test only and the marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be counted for determining their final order of merit.

The Main examination will consist of three papers, each for 200 marks:
• General Essay, Comprehension and Grammar.
• General Studies Paper-I in objective type (MCQ- with OMR Sheet)
• General Studies Paper-ll in descriptive form of short and long answer type.

The Written Examination will consist of 2 (two) papers, of 200 marks-viz;
- General English & General Knowledge (Combined)
- One Option in the relevant Subject
The components of the papers will be as follows:
(a) General English : 100 Marks
(b) General Knowledge & Current Affairs : 100 Marks
(c) One Optional Subject : 200 Marks
